Hi everyone!
Can’t believe its February already and time to write another blog. Got loads to tell you about!Spud and I went out last weekend. We must have drunk about a litre of cider and a couple of cans of lager. Can’t really remember much about the night but I woke up with a shocking hangover the next day. I couldn’t get out of bed! Mum went mad. She said I’d really let her down and put myself and my health in danger. I don’t think she remembers what its like to be 16 and have a good time.
We had a lesson today on the dangers of alcohol abuse and I have decided to try and turn over a new leaf. Its really made me think I should cut down. Its shocked me what I could be doing to my body. If you’re like me and think you are drinking more than you should you can contact the Young Person’s Substance Misuse Service for advice. They are based in Rhyl and you can talk to them in confidence on 01745 357945. This website is also really good at explaining the affect of alcohol on your body (it also helped me with some science homework!)

My head teacher convinced me to take on some responsibility and to help others this month. He suggested I become a Bus Angel. I bet you are wondering what a Bus Angel does. I didn’t know either. It’s my job to report incidents of anti-social behaviour like bullying and vandalism which I might see happening on the school bus. I feel like an undercover detective!
If I witness any bad behaviour I have to tell my head teacher who will inform the Local Authority, Transport Department and the Bus Company. Normally it is picked up on CCTV as almost all school buses have these on board! Smart eh? Hopefully with my help everyone can have a safe ride to school. If you want to find out more take a look at this website for more info.
Spud has decided to do some volunteering too, but his hasn’t quite gone to plan. He said he was going to help out in the local charity shop on a Saturday morning, but he slept in until lunch time two Saturdays in a row. He is going to speak to someone at the Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council for ideas of where he can help locally.
Don’t forget its World Book Day on 4th March. I’ve started reading ‘Twilight’ by Stephenie Meyer. Why don’t you pop into your local library and pick up a book today! For information on local library services have a look at this link
